  • Trinity introduces interdisciplinary sustainability education

    In September, approximately 600 new students will be taking a very different kind of module in Trinity.  The module, called Enacting Sustainable Development, will be mandatory for new students in Trinity’s Business School. The overall aim is that similar modules focusing on sustainable development issues and the development of ESD competencies will be available throughout the University.

  • Scientists enlist “Witness Trees” to track climate change and pinpoint which species can best clean our air

    The scientists, from the School of Natural Sciences in Trinity, will collect data over the next 30 years to assess how the climate is changing and outline which species are best at filtering out dangerous “smog” from the atmosphere.

  • Tree of the month - ‘Rouge de Touilliere’

    This month we are bringing you a very special newly planted tree. Albizia julibrissin, or ‘Rouge de Touilliere’ is commonly known as ‘Chinese or Persian Silk Tree’ and is described by Barcham Tree Specialists as the "Holy Grail of trees". You can find this tree nearly centrally located in the lawn behind Rubrics, facing the Book of Kells Experience.

  • Trinity welcomes Professor Karen Wiltshire as first CRH Chair of Climate Science

    An expert in coastal research and a Trinity alumna, Professor Wiltshire returns to the university from the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven, Germany, where she served as Vice-Director in combination with a professorship in Shelf Sea Ecology at the University of Kiel.
